Hammad’s Story:

Hammad is 7 years old his backbone was broken when he was pulled out of the rubble of the mud house that collapsed due to the devastating Earthquake of 2005. He lost his father to the same catastrophe. His mother was left to raise him and his three siblings. Islamic Help encounter this unfortunate family and after through assessment it is now supporting Hammad and his siblings they have all been attending school and their mother is able to provide for their basic needs. Sadly, Hammad’s mobility issues are making it extremely difficult for him to attend school. The wheelchair that IHP gave him is of little use to him as it is just too hilly where he lives. Hammad’s elder brother used to carry him to school but he struggles to do so now as Hammad is now grown enough to be carried by him. As a result Hammad is unable to go to school regularly we are seeking alternatives for him, including tuition at home.
